I’m new to indoor cycling, will I be able to handle it?

Yes!  We will give you a tour of the studio and make sure you are comfortable getting settled.  The instructor will ensure that you are safely set up on your bike and lead you through the workout.

The difficulty level of the class is up to you. The resistance knob located on your bike is there for you to adjust. If the resistance is too much, turn it down and keep pedaling. If you’re feeling amazing, go ahead and add more!  We acknowledge that our bodies feel different each and every day.  We expect you to listen to your body and enjoy your work out accordingly!

Do I need cycle shoes?

You do need cycle shoes. Cycle shoes clip into the pedals and create a more powerful stroke. You can bring your own or rent shoes when you arrive for $2.  Our bikes are compatible with SPD and Look cleats.

Should I bring water?

You can bring a water bottle and fill up with our purified water cooler. To remain environmentally friendly, we do not sell plastic water bottles.  Our retail section includes eco-friendly Tandem Cycle water bottles available for purchase!

What should I wear?

We recommend that you wear something comfortable and something that you’re not afraid to sweat in!  We suggest form-fitting pants or shorts.

Do you have changing rooms or a shower?

We have one bathroom with room for changing and complimentary toiletries for pre and post work out.  We do not have showers.

Do you have lockers?

We do not have lockers, but we have spacious cubbies for every rider located in the studio space.

Do I need an account?

Yes.  We need to know who is riding with us.  You can create an account with MindBody. We recommend that you make a reservation if you plan to attend a class. We do welcome walk-in riders, but warn you that classes often fill-up. You can make a reservation online up to 7 days in advance. We do not accept unpaid reservations over the phone or in person. You must have a valid class or class package on your account in order to reserve a bike.

Can I cancel my reservation?

Yes. You can cancel your reserved bike up to 4 hours prior to the start of class. Your cancelled ride will be returned to your package. See our cancellation policy on the pricing page.

When should I arrive?

For new riders, we recommend arriving 15 minutes prior to the start of class in order to get set up with shoes, get acquainted with our studio and to set up your bike. All riders must arrive at least THREE MINUTES prior to the start of class, as we will begin giving bikes away to wait-listed riders at that time. If you are running late – no problem, just give us a call and we will hold your bike.

How can I post a project on DonorsChoose?

It’s easy!  If you are a front-line educator (ie., teachers, librarians, guidance counselors, school nurses and full-time teachers who also act as coaches), visit www.donorschoose.org and post the project in need of funding.  You can choose the exact items you need and describe how they’ll benefit your students.  Tandem Cycle will then help fund the request.  Once funded, you will receive the resources directly to your classroom.  Start posting!
